What's this all about?

Around the end of 2006, I started a site poking fun of the new Zune music player: Boycott Zune (BZ). Yes, that seems an odd choice of topic, but some fun-poking was in order; the world's reaction to the product was nasty. And yet, there were pundits saying it'd overwhelm the market anyway, quality be damned, simply on the power of Microsoft's bankroll. We might laugh at the idea now, but it's exactly what we've seen in the operating system market; why couldn't it happen with music players too?
