Digg effect easing up?

UPDATE: The site's breathing a bit more easily, though some features (including comments) are still throttled. Things should be peachy again soon.

My Vista article was walloped by the feedback loop that is a rising Digg score. See the discussion at http://digg.com/microsoft/100_Things_People_Are_Really_Saying_About_Wind... .

That was quite unexpected, and I apologize for the hours of outages, as well as my not having a mirror prepared. I've learned a lesson about the ferociousness of the Digg effect. For now, I was finally able to regain access and enable a throttling mechanism for many of the more power-hungry features. That will help keep the pages flowing, though visitors will see fewer features – even some basics like commenting may be disabled – as long as traffic remains heavy.

My thanks to the many visitors from Digg, Reddit, and elsewhere! I like you more than my ISP does...

Microsplot is built upon an older site poking fun at the Zune music player. But that wasn't too fun (see details). The whole world of tech is full of wonders, good and bad, and it's more enjoyable to take a crack at any worthy target.

Your comments and ratings on any posts are welcomed, as are comments and ideas tossed directly to me.
